Guide Exquisite Lovemaking With Knowledge of the Mind --with Daka Raj

In this special show, Dr. Patti Taylor interviews Daka Raj, a practicing Kashmiri Shaivite Tantrika and advanced practitioner of Expanded Orgasm. Learn how his special interest in language, combined with a new technology for understanding how mind and body intersect, have led to hotter, juicier lovemaking. Daka Raj explains why Expanded Orgasmic practices are enhanced with sexy talk and sexually explicit verbal appreciation. Wow, is this juicy! Next, you'll learn the amazing and powerful “Open Mind” system for determining the optimal way to give your lover the best type of loving attention. And…is there room to optimize on what you’re already doing? Learn strategies that may lead to major improvements in connection, kissing, and lovemaking. Daka Raj offers a variety of turned-on love lines he might use with different women, having different “profiles”, during sexual pleasuring dates. Hear what he’d say at the beginning, middle, and (really heated) final parts of steamy Expanded Orgasm dates. When you say the right types of words to your partner, well, you can really get them cooking! Dr. Patti wants, and gives, some examples for women talking to men, and asks Daka Raj if her ideas seem on target. Dr. Patti and Daka Raj do their best to stay seated as examples are traded – these prolific examples will melt, vibrate, sizzle and soar! But it's all for a good cause: more love, pleasure and turn-on. Learn all about this amazing cutting-edge technology of love in this exciting, fascinating show!

Connect, Socialize, and Play! on this Friday

Dear EL tribe members,

i am guessing you are all on here because you came to one or more of my evening playshops and/or daylong events in the past> Or, at least heard how fun they were.

I stopped giving them in the Bay Area in 2005 due to friendly differences with my promoter here. I have continued presenting in New York, and the information keeps growing deeper and more fun and is as popular as ever.

The time has come that I am wishing to bring this energy back to the Bay Area where I live. The above offering is my first, and I invite everyone to come if they can!

Differences? The playshops in general have grown stronger in linking to their roots to Kashmiri Shaivism, a very deep, powerful form of Tantra. (I discuss this on my website in my new videos and upcoming articles). People appreciate the added depth. But the focus is still on fun and connection.

And we do want to offer more this summer, leading up to some day long things in the fall.

The event Friday should be a lot of fun... a great space! and of course... we supply the best part of all, as always... our Selves.

Also, if you haven't, check out my new website, it's been revamped! Sign up to stay informed of upcoming events.

You'll learn about my podcasts for the Expanded Lovemaking show on www.Personal Life Media... they're hot and juicy and all about Expanded Orgasm, Female Orgasm, Male Orgasm, Erotic Massage, Sacred Energy Orgasms, Male Prostate Massage, Turn-On, Tantra (from masters such as Margot Anand and Daniel Odier), Femlale Ejaculation, and... oh, the list goes on and on...

More to come...

Love for now, Patti

Hi all,

for a long time, this has been a private, members-only tribe. funny how this started... at the request of one person who wanted anonyminity. but i think for me and for others we are better served by having an open forum.

so, as of this upcoming monday, july 2, 2007,this forum will become a public one.

not so gender differences

http://www.abc.net.au/science/news/stories/s1462074.htm
Men may be from Venus too
Anna Salleh
ABC Science Online
Monday, 19 September 2005

Many apparent differences between men and women are due to society's expectations, research says (Image: iStockphoto)

Men and women might be on the same planetary wavelength after all, says a US researcher who says men and women have more in common than we think.

Psychologist Professor Janet Hyde at the University of Wisconsin says men and women are more similar in personality, communication, cognitive ability and leadership than is generally believed.

Hyde, who has reviewed 20 years worth of data, reports her findings in the latest issue of the journal American Psychologist.

Popular books like Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus argue that men and women are so enormously different psychologically they may as well come from different planets.

But Hyde says on most psychological characteristics, males and females are more alike than different.

She looked at 46 meta-analyses (studies that analyse findings from a number of studies) that looked at how gender influences various traits and abilities.

The studies looked at cognitive abilities, such as the ability to do mathematics, verbal and nonverbal communication, aggression, leadership, self-esteem, moral reasoning and motor behaviour, such as throwing distance.

Hyde found large gender differences in throwing distance, masturbation behaviour and attitudes about casual sex, and a moderate difference in aggression.

But for most psychological characteristics, she found no differences between men and women.

Differences due to societal expectation

Hyde also found evidence that differences between men and women is linked to society's expectation of how they should behave.

For example, one study analysed the behaviour of men and women playing a video game, where dropping bombs was a measure of aggressive behaviour.

Half the players were identified, the other half were anonymous.

In the group that was identified, men dropped significantly more bombs than women, but this difference did not exist in the anonymous group.

"In short, the significant gender difference in aggression disappeared when gender norms were removed," says Hyde.

In another test, women smiled more than men when observed but this was not the case when they thought they were not being observed.

Hyde says these findings provide strong evidence against the idea that psychological differences between men and women are "large and stable".

Damaging stereotypes

Hyde says that over-inflating claims of differences between men and women can be damaging.

She says there is a widespread belief that boys are better in mathematics than girls but the evidence shows girls and boys perform equally in the subject until high school when boys gain a small advantage.

Hyde says the evidence suggests this could be due to parents having lower expectations of their daughters' success in maths and thus affecting her self-confidence and performance.

She says women's success as workplace leaders can also be hindered if they go against the caring and nurturing stereotype.

Support for challenge

Australian neuroscience and animal behaviour expert, Professor Lesley Rogers, has written books on the role of nature and nurture in gender and welcomes the study.

"The problem with a lot of these popular books that have been coming out recently is firstly, they exaggerate the difference [between men and women], and secondly, they make the assumption it's biology, genes then hormones, that cause that difference," says Rogers, from the University of New England in Armidale.

Rogers agrees with Hyde that societal expectations can play a strong role in shaping people's behaviour and that these interact with genetic and hormonal factors.

"It's amazing how people's perceptions of themselves and their own behaviour is in fact a reflection of assumptions and constructs in society."

Rogers says Hyde's paper is comprehensive and updates research done in the 1970s that also found that men and women were more alike than different.

"It's a really important paper at this time," says Rogers. "The 'difference seekers' have been riding on the crest of the wave without very little reasoned scientific evidence to show that they're on their own imaginative trail."

Female orgasm is in the genes
Anna Salleh
ABC Science Online
Monday, 21 February 2005

Something else to blame your parents for? A woman's ability to reach orgasm is partly due to her genes, a unique study of Australian twins has found.

And the relative importance of environmental factors versus genes seems to vary depending on whether a woman masturbates, has sexual intercourse or oral sex.

Behavioural geneticist Dr Khytam Dawood of the University of Chicago and international team report their findings this week in the journal Twin Research.

"As far as I know this is the first study that's been done looking at the possibility of genetic influences on the frequency of orgasms," Dawood told ABC Science Online.

The researchers asked more than 3000 female twins from the Australian Twin Registry how often they achieved orgasm in different situations: while masturbating, while having penetrative sex with a partner; or having sex with a partner involving other methods, like oral sex.

The people in the study included genetically identical twins and non-identical twins, with the difference between the two shedding light on the contribution of genes versus environment on behaviour.

The researchers found that when women try to reach orgasm through masturbation about half (51%) of their chance of success depended on their genes.

But for other methods of reaching orgasm, environmental factors were more important than genetic factors.

When they had penetrative sex, genes accounted for just 31% of their chance of success, and 37% when a women and her partner used other methods.

The researchers don't know why the frequency of orgasm during masturbation has a higher genetic component.

Orgasms and evolution

Dawood says the discovery that orgasm has a genetic component may support the theory that orgasm plays a role in evolution.

Other researchers, for example, argue that orgasm helps women to retain sperm or otherwise improves the success of reproduction.

Dawood says she hopes to carry out further surveys to test such theories.

"Sex is the reason we're here and yet we really understand very little about the actual development of sexual orientation and gender identity and sexual behaviour," she told ABC Science Online. "Much is just assumed without a real scientific basis."

A good start

Australian reproductive physiologist Dr Gemma O'Brien from the University of New England in Armidale welcomes the research but says on its own it is of limited use in understanding the influence of genes and environment on orgasm.

She says it is important to work out which parts of the body genes are influencing. Genes may influence the reproductive tract, and also the development of the hormone system, the nervous system and the brain, all of which can influence orgasm.

"This [research] is a great place to start but I do hope it is taken further," says O'Brien.

O'Brien is interested in how the brain works to achieve orgasm. She says genes may, for example, be influencing the quality of the emotional seat of the brain, the limbic system, which is involved in orgasm.

List Friends,

Here is the announcement I sent out to my email list (sign up at www.expandedlovemaking.com)

If you are not already on it, please consider signing up to stay informed. We can't sign you up, you must do this yourself. (Otherwise we might just sign up almost everyone... hey, who Couldn't benefit from a nice expanded lovemaking session, topped of by an extra-yummy expanded orgasm? gee i can hardly think of anyone!)

and please feel free to ask any ? here about my change in the sunday course. or about the sat. course, too, for that matter.

xoxoxo

Dear Expanded Lovemaking Friends,

Greetings to all! Spring has sprung in all sorts of new ways for me. I am loving Sausalito, California, and am receiving much new information on the practice and mastery of Expanded Lovemaking almost daily.

People I meet are so hungry for information, for community, for sharing, for learning in the doing.... and I look around and ask, how is all this information going to spread to all who want it? At times, I feel frustrated... yet I feel hopeful, too. To quote a favorite teacher, Seth, "The conscious desire always precedes the reality." As desire for this transformative information grows, I believe knowledge on living a sensually-embodied and erotically-intelligent and integrated life will continue to spread. And, I am teaching myself ever more to learn to live in this question... so I don't have just one answer yet, but I do have a couple of live world courses coming up! (keep reading for dates)

I'm in awe at the profound mystery of connection. How is it that we can connect up our bodies, minds, hearts, and spirits, so that, in the merest touch of a loved one, we may transport ourselves powerfully into bliss? I'm also getting an increasing sense of my own beginner's mind. I have only begun to scratch the surface of some of these mysteries... and it seems, the more I seek, the more I find to pursue. This rabbit hole goes very, very deep!

We are offering our next playshops on Expanded Tantric Lovemaking and Expanded Orgasm. Those of you who know me realize that my offerings (in terms of playshops) are *always* subject to change in content and focus. And, indeed, this time, I have decided to alter the format of our Sunday playshop so that it is now clothes-on, more content-rich, and question-driven. Why? I feel that I will serve everyone best by going to this format. Everyone has such differing needs, interests, and questions!

This new format will give us all a powerful opportunity to learn more about the art of Expanded Orgasm (EO) than ever before. I want everyone to be able to leave Sunday with a compelling (and convincing) ability to explain to your partner(s), and anyone else, just what this practice really entails, and why you (and your lovers) might be so intrigued by it. So... even if you have taken my Sunday "Expanded Orgasm" before, please consider joining us in our all-new format.

We have TWO playshop weekends planned for summer: Sat-Sun, June 25-26 in Marin, California; and Sat-Sun Aug 20-21 in Ashland, Oregon.

These course is always a unique commingling of the energies of all participants. And, it is also an experiment. A major point in learning "EO" is that we embrace experiments, and learn from every experience. There are no rights or wrongs in Expanded Lovemaking...just a series of opportunities to play and to connect ever more caringly with others. In this spirit we extend to you our invitation.

We invite you to visit our website, www.ExpandedLovemaking.com, under "Events", to learn more about our playshops, and to contemplate whether our offerings feel resonant for you at this time.

Brain Areas Shut Off During Female Orgasm By EMMA ROSS, AP Medical Writer
Tue Jun 21, 8:22 AM ET

COPENHAGEN, Denmark - New research indicates parts of the brain that govern fear and anxiety are switched off when a woman is having an orgasm but remain active if she is faking.

In the first study to map brain function during orgasm, scientists from the Netherlands also found that as a woman climaxes, an area of the brain governing emotional control is largely deactivated.

"The fact that there is no deactivation in faked orgasms means a basic part of a real orgasm is letting go. Women can imitate orgasm quite well, as we know, but there is nothing really happening in the brain," said neuroscientist Gert Holstege, presenting his findings Monday to the annual meeting of the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology.

In the study, Holstege and his colleagues at Groningen University recruited 11 men, 13 women and their partners.

The volunteers were injected with a dye that shows changes in brain function on a scan. For men, the scanner tracked activity at rest, during erection, during manual stimulation by their partner and during ejaculation brought on by the partner's hand.

For women, the scanner measured brain activity at rest, while they faked an orgasm, while their partners stimulated their clitoris and while they experienced orgasm.

Holstege said he had trouble getting reliable results from the study on men because the scanner needs activities lasting at least two minutes and the men's climaxes didn't last that long. However, the scans did show activation of reward centers in the brain for men, but not for women.

Holstege said his results on women were more clear.

When women faked orgasm, the cortex, the part of the brain governing conscious action, lit up. It was not activated during a genuine orgasm.

Even the body movements made during a real orgasm were unconscious, Holstege said.

The most striking results were seen in the parts of the brain that shut down, or deactivated. Deactivation was visible in the amygdala, a part of the brain thought to be involved in the neurobiology of fear and anxiety.

"During orgasm, there was strong, enormous deactivation in the brain. During fake orgasm, there was no deactivation of the brain at all. None," Holstege said.

Shutting down the brain during orgasm may ensure that obstacles such as fear and stress did not get in the way, Holstege proposed. "Deactivation of these very important parts of the brain might be the most important necessity for having an orgasm," he said.

Donald Pfaff, professor of neurobiology and behavior at Rockefeller University in New York, said the interpretations were reasonable. "It makes poetic sense," said Pfaff, who was not connected with the research.

I thought maybe you would get a kick out of this. Patti you might consider doing a play shop here next year. Enjoy

Brazilian Town Declares Orgasm Day
Mon May 9, 4:34 PM ET
RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil - Sex rarely makes the news in Brazil's conservative Northeast — until a small town declared an official Orgasm Day on Monday.

Espertantina Mayor Felipe Santolia endorsed the May 9 holiday, which he said was intended to improve relationships between married couples.

"We're celebrating orgasm in all its senses. There's even a panel discussion on premature ejaculation. But from what I've seen, women have more trouble achieving orgasm than men, especially in marriage," Santolia said by telephone from Esperantina, 1,300 miles north of Rio de Janeiro.

Santolia said the remote town of 38,000 people has been unofficially celebrating orgasm day for years, but that the town's former mayor had vetoed a bill making it an official municipal holiday.

The city council passed a law Saturday creating the holiday. Santolia, who took office earlier this year, said he would sign the bill later Monday.

"I'm 32, single and I have an open mind. Beside the theme is very much of the moment," he said.
Orgasm Day celebrations include a series of panel discussions by sexologists from across Brazil and a presentation of Eve Ensler's play "The Vagina Monologues."

Santolia said the idea of celebrating Orgasm Day at first created a scandal in this poor region, known for its religious fervor. But he said residents gradually residents warmed to the idea.

"I've seen scientific studies that show when a woman is unloved, when her husband can bring her to orgasm, it affects all aspects of her life, her relationships with her children, at home, with the city and at work," Santolia said.

Patti, In your book, "Expanded Orgasm," you made a short mention about what a thrill it is to find someone who is an "Expanded Vessile." I would agree it is way more then a thrill. You and I are familiar with someone in southern Oregon that is diffinitly an Expanded Vessile.
My question is, how many have you found? Or maybe what precentage of the population is an expanded vessile? After meeting one I am anxious to find more.
See you in June, Verland

DOing Improves Life

I've put myself on a rigorous course improving my non-verbal sensory awareness through the application of General Semantics.

I bet the authors did not know about the double-entendre in:

"When we give priority to 'facts' or non-verbal happenings rather than verbal definitions and labels, and maintain our consciousness of abstracting, we call this *extensional* behavior." [pg 98] Extensionalizing leads to an emphasis on *doing* rather than on being; on *using* and *evaluating* what we know, not just collecting information. We find this change in emphasis leads to much improvement in people's lives." [p182] Kodish and Kodish. Drive Yourself Sane. [Italics {**} by the author.]

From my own personal experience, I can verify that my emphasis on DOing has certainly improved my life.

First let me thank Iona for inviting me to the tribe and to this group and to Patti for changing my life. I had the pleasure of attending Patti's play shop in Febuary. That single weekend has made a profound impack on my life. Patti has given me the opportunity to finally become the great lover that we all have always wanted to be.
I look forward to this tribe being a fun place to exchange ideas.

i am interested and excited to hear dialog on the language of love. i study this with a passion, since i feel our everyday language (and way of thinking) is not particularly well suited for lovemaking.

i think nvc and focusing and e-prime are all good devices for getting us to "connect up" our minds with our feelings. i see them as starting points, perhaps, to increase connection, but not during- points, in lovemaking.

what turns me on? i look to my experiences.

for one, i listen with a distinctive ear to love songs. after all, they speak the language of love, or should i say, sing this language. i turn on the radio and many of the songs i hear transport me from my everyday world into an emotional vastness and richness.

as i listen i feel touched, more open to love, more integrated, softer, more approachable, and more turned on.

well-done love songs take me into the hologram (that expanded, connected-everywhere, magical place that contains all places...)

in addition to pullng on my heart strings, they engage my imagination, and they invite my vulnerabilities to surface... i think there is much to learn from listening to the radio and observing when, and then, what is it, that is having such nice effects on us?

randomly, these two songs played while in my car as i was specifically listening on a brief trip to the cleaners.

i have copied the lyrics to these two songs that played. notice the imaginination, the tenderness, .... the more i listen the more i see how easily we have come to accept this otherworldly, hologrammatic quality in our love songs .

they use words like "always", "forever", and "never" (words that are not considerd "politcally correct" in nvc, i might note).

they strectch space as well as time ("world-wide symphony").

they defy logic ... "i look out from your soul","me in you" (reminds me of the banned and very hologrammatic gospel of st. thomas, thou shalt enter the kingdom of heaven when the two are as one, the inner is the outer, etc....)

they talk about the stars above, and angels, (certainly other-worldly notions) and use lots of paradox (very young but very old)...great devices for hologram-seekers.

since expanded lovemaking seeks ways to enter and build that magic, i have a natural interest in anything that helps bring in the energy this magical realm.

so is anyone else listening to these songs for valuable learning about love? if so, what turns you on and/or what are you observing?
>>>>>>>

How do you talk to an angel? by the heights

"how do i talk to an angel?
I hear a voice in my mind
I know her face by heart
heaven and earth are moving in my soul
I don't know where to start
tell me, tell me, the words to define
the way I feel about someone so fine
how do you talk to an angel
how do you hold her close to where you are
how do you talk to an angel
it's like trying to catch a falling star
at night i dream that she is there
and I can feel her in the air
tell me, tell me, the words to define
the way I feel about someone so fine"
...<snip>....

Barry Manilow - I Write The Songs Lyrics

I've been alive forever,
and I wrote the very first song.
I put the words and the melodies together,
I am music,
and I write the songs.

I write the songs that make the whole world sing.
I write the songs of love and special things.
I write the songs that make the young girls cry.
I write the songs, I write the songs.

My home lies deep within you,
and I've got my own place in your soul.
Now, when I look out through your eyes
I'm you'g again, even though I'm very old.
...
Oh my music makes you dance
and gives your spirit to take a chance,
and I wrote some rock 'n' roll so you can move.
Music fills your heart,
well, that's a real fine place to start.
It's from me it's for you,
it's from you, it's from me,
it's a world wide symphony.
....

Have you experienced transcendent sex?

In her book, "Transcendent Sex" recommended below, author Jenny Wade documents 91 cases where partners experienced altered states of consciousness during lovemaking.

Are YOU one out of every eight who...during sex...have experienced:
- otherworldly realms?
- shapeshifting?
- seeing visions of divine avatars?
- reliving past lives?
- transcending the laws of physics with paranormal powers?
- seeing the face of God?

Please share your experiences.

An invitation to introduce ourselves

hi everyone,

i woke up this morning and accidently got onto the site i started a few days ago. since i made it private, i was hardly expecting to see new members! then i got it... like this little "aha" moment... wow... we *are* connected...in ways that we only know when we step into the stream of life, and into the inquiries that make our lives meaningful and juicy. and i see this tribe as a juicy expanded question...full of potential for sharing, learning, and connecting.

who am i? i wonder that a lot - and my not-always-wanting-to-know-who-i-am makes it hard to describe myself. but since i am a "writer" (i guess... if you look at my actions) i should be able to say something about myself.

i don't think of myself as a writer. i'm an artist... a painter or photographer, perhaps, in my heart, even though i've been writing and teaching lately... writing is so danged *linear*!!! i try to write like i'm having a wet dream, in the middle of an expanded orgasm, and that helps.

so... jumping into some labels here for a moment here: i'm a feeler, a thinker, a be-er, a doer, a creator, and a tantrica. i am self-annointedly "out of my mind", at least some of the time...and i'm a lover. a consummate lover, who loves to love.

i love to love the one i'm with... and touch hearts, so that you love the one you're with, and this circle of love starts catching on, and, we actually do make a difference, in ways we can feel and imagine as "real" in the *now*.

my website is www.ExpandedLovemaking.com; i don't experience myself as a good businessperson, and i can be a perfectionist, and judgmental... usually i'm the hardest on myself, but i'm committed to learning how to love myself, too. my website can tell you more about me. books, my dvd, etc.

okay -- enough about me for a start.
and you? i'd love it if you share little about who you are (and may be, and have been, and want to be, and so on)....and what you do, and dream, and feel, and wish to share...why Expanded Lovemaking is relevant to you...whatever... just some opening snippets for the rest of us here...

welcome, and namaste,
patti

I'm delighted to make the first post.

Thank you, Patti, for starting Expanded Lovemaking. Your books and workshops inspire and enlighten. I know you will bring us even more of your insights into turn-on, connection, compassion, and empathy.

Yours in EEO, WS
